While most tend to think of bingo as a hobby enjoyed purely for entertainment, it is also true that many K-12 teachers have adapted to the use of bingo in their classrooms. Bingo is now used to help teach a wide range of school subjects, including reading, English language, foreign, and mathematics.
Education versions of bingo is usually good to be close to the same rules as the standard game – with the teacher acts as bingo caller, and students of the players – but they are often specially modified to be played on bingo cards containing items chosen by the teacher instead of the usual numbers. Moreover, in some cases, the teacher can change the rules a little. ‘
Here are some ideas to use the lessons bingo:
* Sight Word Bingo – Bingo cards are printed on the words chosen by the teacher (often sweet words sight word list). The teacher reads the word, and students are responsible for finding the square of their cards.
* Phonemic awareness Bingo – Bingo cards are printed with letters. The teacher shouts a word, and students should find the letter that begins the word.
